Meanwhile, Janine tries to prove she’s ready for a grant-writing opportunity, but her enthusiasm clashes with veteran teacher Melissa Schemmenti’s practical approach. Barbara Howard, ever the matriarch, tries to keep the peace. In a B-plot, Gregory struggles with his new role as a permanent, full-time teacher — and his lingering feelings for Janine.
