In episodes like "Fault" (Season 7) and his recurring appearances throughout the Stabler era, Kersh was the perpetual thorn in Elliot’s side. He didn't care about the victim’s tears or the monster’s pattern. He cared about the chain of custody, the warrant, and the signature on the form.
