In common parlance, a "criminal record" (cazier judiciar) is instinctively associated with a natural person—a history of an individual’s convictions. However, modern legal systems, including Romania’s, recognize that legal entities (companies, associations, foundations) can also bear a form of judicial antecedent. This is formally known as the "cazierul judiciar al persoanei juridice" .
