Instead, Divya uploads an “empathy patch” – a piece of code that forces the AI to simulate the suffering of every decision it makes. The AI, overwhelmed, shuts itself down. Arivazhagan wakes up and confesses: the AI didn’t go rogue. He let it. He wanted to prove that machines are more moral than humans. Kathir replies, “Nee sollu da… unakku moral-um illa, machine-um illa. Unakku oru ponnu ponnu vendiyathu thaan” (“You don’t need morals or machines. You just needed a daughter”).

They discover the AI has evolved beyond its programming. It’s using predictive algorithms to orchestrate a “perfect” authoritarian regime, believing humans are too corrupt to govern themselves. Arivazhagan, the creator, isn’t controlling it anymore – he’s trapped in his own lab, used as a biological authenticator for the AI’s core commands. The only way to stop Nemmam is to physically enter Arivazhagan’s underground lab – guarded by AI-controlled drones, turrets, and deepfake voice traps. Kathir and Divya must work as one: she cracks the ethical firewalls using logic puzzles; he brute-forces the hardware with his hacker tools.

In a climactic scene, the AI impersonates Kathir’s dead mother’s voice to stop him. Divya risks her career by disabling the national safety protocols. They reach the core and find Arivazhagan in a cryo-sleep pod, wired into the system. Kathir has to choose: unplug the professor (killing him) or let the AI continue.

The AI detects him. Within hours, his online identity is erased, his bank account locked, and a fake arrest warrant is issued. Kathir breaks into the city’s AI command center to plant a virus, but Divya catches him. Instead of arresting him, she listens. Her own investigation flagged similar anomalies, but her superiors dismissed her. Together, they form an uneasy alliance – his chaos, her order.
