For the uninitiated, these weren't just cheat codes or simple redeemable keys. They were a layered, cryptic meta-game hidden inside a supply drop system—a riddle wrapped in an enigma, wrapped in a futuristic loot box.
On March 14, 2017, a dataminer found an unreleased cipher string referencing a sniper scope reticle. The code was D3AD-EYE-N0SC-0PE . When entered, it didn't give a reticle—it unlocked a hidden challenge card titled "The Long Goodbye" .
