Set in 1940s China amidst gang violence and corruption, the story follows Sing (Stephen Chow), a hapless wannabe gangster and small-time crook. Along with his dim-witted sidekick, Bone, Sing tries to extort money from the residents of a rundown tenement building called "Pig Sty Alley." Unbeknownst to him, Pig Sty Alley is a secret haven for some of the most powerful and eccentric kung fu masters in the country, including a landladies who can project her voice as a weapon and a coolie who fights with explosive strength.
★★★★½ (4.5/5) Recommended for: Fans of Hera Pheri (for the absurd comedy), Gangs of Wasseypur (for the raw gangster energy), and anyone who loves seeing good triumph over evil with gravity-defying kicks and a lot of heart. Would you like help finding the current legal streaming links for the Hindi-dubbed version?
If you’re a fan of Bollywood masala films, Jackie Chan’s slapstick, or Tarantino’s hyper-stylized violence, Kung Fu Hustle in Hindi is a must-watch. The dubbing is surprisingly respectful yet entertaining, turning an already hilarious film into something that feels almost like a lost Bollywood martial arts comedy from the 90s—only with much better special effects.
