The whistle blew.

As Paddles held the Currentstone before the seven clan elders, he didn’t speak of strength or speed. He turned to the youngest ducklings in the front row and said: “The fastest current isn’t the one that pushes hardest. It’s the one that knows when to stop and think.” That night, the Whisperstream, Ironmarsh, and Paddles’ own Mudfoot clans feasted together — a rare truce in Featherton’s history.

He plucked the Golden Lily Bulb gently, as if picking a dandelion. The stadium erupted. Quilla laughed and bowed. Grizzlebeak, defeated but grinning, slapped the water in applause. quackprep games

Welcome to — the only arena where ducks don’t just waddle; they war . The Pond Before the Storm Every spring, the marshlands of Featherton hosted the QuackPrep Games : a three-day trial of grit, wit, and wing-power. Ducks from seven clans gathered at the Great Lily Stadium — a floating coliseum of woven reeds, lotus towers, and a central pool shimmering with bioluminescent algae.

Paddles didn’t race. He dove deep, grabbed a mouthful of mud, and spat it into the inner ring’s whirlpool. The mud cloud confused the current’s flow pattern — the ring stuttered. Then Paddles surfaced inside the calm eye of the chaos. The whistle blew

Contestants plunged into the Abyssal Gulp, a deep trench where sound distorted and bubbles revealed your position to predatory diving beetles. Grizzlebeak dove hard and fast — but his powerful kicks sent up a cloud of bubbles that attracted three beetles. He fought them off but surfaced gasping. Quilla used silent leg strokes and won the round easily. Paddles simply closed his good eye, listened to the beetles’ hunting clicks, and swam toward them — because beetles never expect prey to come closer. They scattered in confusion.

The crowd went silent. Three rings of spinning water churned at the center of the Great Lily Stadium. First duck to grab the Golden Lily Bulb from the innermost ring wins. It’s the one that knows when to stop and think

And the QuackPrep Games became not just a contest of champions, but a school for the clever, the patient, and the slightly scruffy. The Currentstone is stolen by a mole with a submarine. Can Paddles lead an underwater rescue without getting his feathers wet? Spoiler: Yes. Yes, he can.
