Maya nodded. She’d considered adding her own name or a heart, but decided against it. The names alone were enough.

As she paid and wrapped her wrist in clear bandage, she smiled. Twelve minutes of gentle sting. A lifetime of looking down and seeing their names.

And that, she thought, is the smallest infinity of all.
